The Filling Process
Emergency Examination
Your dentist examines the tooth, takes X-rays to assess the extent of decay or damage and checks whether the nerve is affected.
Decay Removal
All decayed or damaged tooth material is carefully removed using precision instruments, leaving only healthy, clean tooth structure.
Cavity Preparation
The cavity is shaped, cleaned and conditioned to provide the best bond with the filling material.
Filling Placement
Composite resin is applied in layers, each cured with a UV light to build up strength. The material is colour-matched to blend seamlessly with your natural tooth.
Shaping & Polishing
The filling is carefully sculpted to replicate the natural contours of the tooth and polished to a smooth, stain-resistant finish.
Bite Check
Your bite is checked and adjusted to ensure the filling sits comfortably and your teeth meet evenly when you close your mouth.
