What Are Clear Aligners?

Clear aligners are a modern, clinically proven alternative to traditional metal braces. They consist of a series of custom-made, transparent plastic trays that fit precisely over your teeth, gradually moving them into the correct alignment. At Dental Clinic London, we deliver clear aligner therapy using advanced 3D digital scanning technology and our Pro Aligners system.

Clear aligners are suitable for the vast majority of common orthodontic issues — crowding, spacing, overbites, underbites, crossbites, open bites, rotated teeth, overjet and orthodontic relapse. Treatment is dentist-led, safe and supervised at our CQC-regulated South Kensington practice.

Unlike traditional braces, clear aligners are virtually invisible when worn, removable for eating and oral hygiene, and generally more comfortable. Each aligner is worn for 1–2 weeks before progressing to the next in the series. Treatment times range from 4 months for mild cases to 20+ months for complex, full-arch realignments.

We offer three treatment plans: Easy Align (from £1,000*), Smart Align (from £2,000*) and Ultimate Align (from £2,990*). All plans include a free consultation, 3D scan, unlimited refinements and home teeth whitening gels. 0% finance is available, subject to status.

Clear Aligner Technology

Advantages of Clear Aligners

Transparent & Discreet

Clear aligners are fabricated from medical-grade transparent plastic. They fit snugly over your teeth and are virtually invisible — most people will not notice you are wearing them, even at close range.

3D Digital Scanning

We use state-of-the-art intraoral 3D scanning technology to create a precision digital model of your teeth. No messy impressions — just a quick, comfortable scan that produces accurate results and allows us to show you a digital preview of your smile.

Custom-Made for You

Every aligner is individually manufactured from your 3D scan. This ensures precise, controlled tooth movement at every stage. No generic trays — each aligner is unique to your anatomy and treatment plan.

Removable & Hygienic

Clear aligners are removed for eating, drinking and brushing. This means no dietary restrictions, easy oral hygiene, and no risk of food getting trapped in brackets. You maintain excellent dental health throughout treatment.

Dentist-Led Treatment

Unlike mail-order aligner services, all our clear aligner treatment is supervised by GDC-registered dentists at our CQC-regulated clinic. You receive regular in-person progress reviews, adjustments and professional oversight at every stage.

Suitable for All Ages

Clear aligners are appropriate for teens (with fully erupted permanent teeth) and adults of all ages. Whether you are 16 or 60, clear aligners can help you achieve a straighter, healthier smile.

What We Treat

Conditions Treated with Clear Aligners

Clear aligners are effective for a wide range of orthodontic issues — from mild crowding to complex bite corrections.

Crowding

Teeth overlapping due to insufficient space — a very common reason for clear aligner treatment.

Spacing & Gaps

Unwanted gaps between teeth caused by missing teeth, small teeth or jaw discrepancy.

Overbite

Upper front teeth overlap the lower teeth excessively. Clear aligners can correct mild to moderate overbites.

Underbite

Lower front teeth protrude past the upper teeth. Aligners are effective for dental underbites.

Crossbite

Upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth instead of outside. Left untreated, this can cause uneven wear.

Open Bite

Front teeth do not meet when the mouth is closed. Clear aligners can resolve mild to moderate open bites.

Rotated Teeth

Individual teeth turned out of their correct alignment. Aligners apply targeted force to de-rotate teeth.

Overjet

Upper front teeth protrude forward beyond the lower teeth. Often confused with overbite but involves horizontal projection.

Orthodontic Relapse

Teeth that have shifted after previous orthodontic treatment. Clear aligners are ideal for re-alignment.

Treatment Process

How Clear Aligner Treatment Works

1

Free Consultation & 3D Scan

Visit our South Kensington clinic for a free consultation. Your dentist will perform a comprehensive oral assessment, discuss your goals, and take a precision 3D digital scan of your teeth. We will confirm whether clear aligners are suitable and present a personalised treatment plan with transparent pricing.

2

Digital Treatment Simulation

Using your 3D scan data, we generate a digital simulation showing exactly how your teeth will move at each stage — and what your final smile will look like. You can review the simulation and ask questions before committing to treatment.

3

Wear Your Custom Aligners

Once you approve your plan, your aligners are custom-manufactured. You wear each set for 1–2 weeks, for a minimum of 22 hours per day. Remove them only for eating and cleaning. Each aligner moves your teeth incrementally towards the target position.

4

Progress Reviews

You attend regular check-ups at our clinic so your dentist can monitor progress, ensure the treatment is on track, and prescribe the next set of aligners. This dentist-led approach ensures safe, precise results.

5

Refinements & Retention

After the main aligner sequence, refinement aligners may be prescribed to fine-tune your result. We then move to the retention phase — using fixed or removable retainers to keep your teeth in their new positions permanently.
