Dr Wahab Shakir is the Principal Dentist of Museum Dental suites and also lectures and trains postgraduate dentists for the prestigious Tipton Training Ltd academy nationally.
Wahab qualified at Newcastle University and then moved to London to work in private practice. He has gained a wealth of skill and knowledge in cosmetic and general dental procedures, full mouth reconstructions, bite reconstruction, cosmetic bonding and contouring, adult orthodontics, the treatment of TMD (Temporo-Mandibular Joint Disorders), snoring and sleep apnoea.
As a professional, Wahab is especially known for cosmetic excellence. He has a strong belief in prevention and will only remove tooth structure after all other avenues have been exhausted.
He returns smiles back to functional aesthetic beauty with minimally invasive techniques such as tooth whitening, bonding, minimal prep veneers, inlays, bridges both short and long spanning and crowns. He also has a high level of ability in the treatment of the TMJ jaw joint and its related muscular pain, tension and tooth wear and grinding.
Wahab is passionate about dentistry, has a friendly and caring approach and he is also great at helping nervous patients and children feel relaxed. He is also a platinum certified provider of Invisalign® and C-fast tooth alignment systems. He is also able to offer hybrid braces and logner treatment.
Wahab is also excited to be a registered provider of the Somnowell appliance for patients who snore and have sleep apnoea.
He is always making sure he keeps up to speed with the constant developments in dentistry. As part of his ongoing professional development, he regularly attends courses by other well respected dentists.
Wahab has a Certificate in hands-on dentistry for which he was presented the Best Dentist Award, and Certificate in Restorative Dentistry from the Tipton Institute. He also holds a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry.
Wahab has a Masters MClinDent in Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry. He is also a member of and incoming president of the 2018 BARD (British Academy of Restorative Dentists) conference.
In his spare time, Wahab has a passion for playing the guitar and didgeridoo.
